The Stress Lab at the University of California, San Francisco is under the direction of Dr. Elissa Epel, Dr. Aric Prather, and Dr. Wendy Berry Mendes.

 
 
 

Volunteer

Research assistants will learn how to conduct studies, collect physiological data, and edit and score autonomic data. Research assistants work at least 10-12 hours a week for two school semesters. Please note that the lab operates between 6:30am-11:30pm on both weekdays and weekends, depending on study requirements.

Research Studies

Couple Study

We are currently looking for romantic couples between the ages of 18 and 39 who have been together for more than one year to participate in a research study on the dynamics of connections in romantic relationships.

You and your partner will complete a questionnaire at home then come to our lab for two hours to take part in conversations while wearing non-invasive equipment that tracks your physiology. The study also involves stimulation on your ear.
